  1. I worked for UVOCORP for six years. Working part time, I averaged $65K annually. I worked in over 60 different majors.

Over the years, things went from good to fair to bad to worse. They used to take a middle-of-the-road stance on disagreements. Nowadays, the petulant baby “college student” is always right, so the writer must “correct” the paper umpteen times.

I told the company NOT to accept software development tasks. All of a sudden, students were robbing writers blind, getting $500 or more worth of work for $75.

They used to call me in the middle of the night, “We really need XYZ, we know it’s late, but we’ll pay you $495 if you can write the six pages within two hours.” They seemed to lose ANY sense of “how one conducts business with a customer base of children.”

  2. Sorry, my last paragraph may have confused you. The point was that they were–once upon a time–competent businessmen. NOW their only concern seems to be pacifying an out-of-control student body (how can they do any work if they’re busy marching in the street and vandalizing college buildings?)–the writers be damned.
